Malibu real estate is a great thing to say in a sentence that is preceded by “I own” If you’re on the way to owning some of that prime and beautiful property, then there are a few things you should know:
The ‘Bu has many beaches; all of which are well kept and sandy with the ocean a short walk away. Malibu real estate is exceptionally well served by the climate: the area averages 338 days of sunshine in a year, with an average of 3 days of rain. More rain will occur in the winter months and the temperature may reach as low as 50˚F, but during the summer, one can expect good sunlight and temperatures from the low 60’s, at the coldest times of the day.
Malibu real estate is home to many people who have class, taste and influence in many areas of the world. One might be rubbing shoulders at the supermarket with A-list celebrities or a top researcher at HRL Laboratories. The Malibu International Film Festival often sees and honours top celebrities like James Cameron and the Malibu Arts Festival is held annually during the last weekend in July. There are many non-profit initiatives associated and based in Malibu as well: the Chili Cook-off held every Labor Day weekend donates money to children and youth organizations. The Nautica Triathlon is held every September and in 2007, it raised $718,000 for the Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles. This year’s Polar Plunge, which is always held at the beautiful Zuma Beach, received $21,300 as donations and was contributed to Southern California’s Special Olympics. While a polar plunge up in Canada might be a little more dangerous, there was still a lot of sunlight and fun this past Polar Plunge in Malibu.
Malibu real estate is also popular for films, television and music videos. Fictional teen star Hannah Montana was based in Malibu. Important scenes from the 1968 classic sci-fi film, Planet of the Apes were shot at Point Dume. Tony Stark’s home in Iron Man was in Malibu and the beautiful beach city is the setting of the popular Two and a Half Men. Music videos for such musicians and bands like Selena Gomez, Rihanna, Destiny’s Child, S Club 7, and Britney Spears have all shot videos in Malibu.
Throughout the years, Malibu real estate has been home to the most popular actors and musicians that the world has ever seen. One could even be purchasing a home that Leonardo Di Caprio or David Duchovny once lived in. Who knows, maybe they left a few things there. Anyone ever wonder how much Leo’s old sock could go for on ebay?
Malibu real estate is, always has been and always will be (unless, of course, California actually does sink into the Pacific Ocean, which it won’t) a hot place to live. For the celebrities and for anyone else, the beaches and sun are welcome and comfortable. There are many reasons to visit Malibu but has only one reason to stay: Malibu.
